Making the case and making a difference for those who have the courage to challenge injustice.
Attorney Paul Schinner understands the courage it takes for employees tochallenge illegal actions in their workplace and brings the full weight of his legal expertise to their representation. As a member of Halunen Law’s legal team, he offers years of experience in employment law, with keen legal insights, hard-nosed negotiation skills, and a proven record of obtaining successful outcomes. Paul also has extensive experience navigating False Claims Act litigation and has represented whistleblower clients in these complex federal cases across a range of industries.
In all instances, Paul’s passion for his profession is front and center. From seeking justice for a determined whistleblower to finding the best possible outcome for an employee who’s suffered harassment or discrimination at the hands of coworkers or management, he brings a commanding level of persistence and compassion to those he represents.
Paul and his two brothers enjoyed a household filled with lively conversation. Their schoolteacher parents encouraged dinner table banter and debate over timely topics. Given Paul’s penchant for winning arguments, a career as an attorney seemed destined—and a college thesis on the American Labor Movement was the catalyst that steered him towards Employment law and Workers’ Rights. The connection between law and life became clear, and he understood that as an attorney, he would have a real-world opportunity to make a difference. He earned his J.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he also served as managing editor of its law review and interned with the Wisconsin Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.
Having worked in Milwaukee in recent years, Paul and his wife are now settled in the Twin Cities, his wife’s hometown. Impressed by the park system, restaurants, and theater scene, they are exploring all the metro area offers. A big tennis fan and former instructor, he welcomes warmer days on the court, while the winter months let him feed his voracious reading habit. And though he’s getting acclimated to the area, this avid Milwaukee Bucks and Packers fan can’t envision his loyalties changing despite his relocation.
